Customer Reviews:
I showed up to Dr. Glogauer’s office after taking a slapshot to the face (I made the proactive life choice to not wear a cage). Three days before my honeymoon.
From the first visit, he was calm, confident, and somehow reassuring while surgically installing an implant in my face. The procedure went smoothly, and I was in and out within 15 minutes.
If you’re going to lose a tooth in a completely avoidable hockey incident, this is the guy you want putting your face back together.
Highly recommend OMG Perio (AND wearing a full cage).
Absolutely excellent care. Professional and caring. Visits are tailored to my needs. New techniques are helpful. Seen a vast improvement in my dental health.

Customer Reviews:
I can’t tell you how lucky I am that I found this dental office.
Enter Smile Crafters. They were very patient with me because my fear of dentist has been long and deep I kept putting off making an appointment. Especially teeth cleaning, never was I a fan of it. The first appointment was with Lisa, my Care Coordinator. I thought it was a little funny to have that position but boy did she and still does coordinate. She made me feel like a real customer, and that I mattered, not like they were doing me a favor. Lisa is perfect in her job, she makes me feel stupid for having any fear at all. My search/fear for financing was OVER. Lisa and I created a treatment plan to remove my teeth and have my mouth heal. I was given timeliness and what I should be expecting. The funny thing was, I was never given a price, money wasn’t discussed in detail except for, don’t worry about it, we should be able to apply to enough places to get most if not all of it covered. WOW. So my next appointment included cleaning. I wasn’t very happy because I would have denied the cleaning had I been given a choice. The thing is that the cleaning is needed to get rid of as much bacteria as possible before opening a bunch of holes in my mouth. I was adamant to Katherine the hygienist that I was very sensitive and she probably wasn’t going to be able to actually clean my teeth. I was wrong. She stayed right on the edge of pain and plaque removal and cleaned my teeth without sending a single jolt through me. She is phenomenal at her job and I wish she cleaned my teeth years ago so I would have liked the procedure way better and went more often.
Then Dr. Shahzad (the dentist) came in and explained everything to me and she didn’t stop until I said enough. I was so relaxed after my appointment that I wanted my teeth pulled right there and then because my comfort level was higher than it ever was sitting in a dental chair.
Back to the beginning. The first person I delt with was someone from the Ancaster office, Kristie. She was awesome and used text messaging to contact me which for me, means no rush to respond. When I switched to the Hamilton office, I started dealing with Jessica. She is just as awesome as Kristie and came at me with the same relaxed, kind of, get back to me when you can and we’re here when you need us attitude. I loved it. Jessica is there for me whenever I need her on the other end of a text message, and if she isn’t available, Kristie will answer also.
Here is the short review:
Smile Crafters works hard for their clients, I am surprised at how much work they do on their end to make sure you get exactly what you need. The staff is above and beyond what you can expect. The last person I met really helped me with all my paperwork before I left, thank you Rosa!!! This is how a trip to the dentist should be, and if you have any fears, or your children have any fears, this place is for you and your family. ❤️❤️❤️
I’ll see you guys next week !!!
Exceptional service! I recently visited Smile and was thoroughly impressed by their professionalism and care. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction throughout my visit. From the warm welcome at reception to the expert care provided by the dental team, every aspect of my experience was top-notch. I highly recommend Smile Crafters Dental to anyone seeking high-quality dental care in Hamilton. Thank you for your outstanding service!

How to Choose the Best Periodontist in Hamilton
Periodontal disease affects nearly half of adults over 30, but finding the right specialist can make the difference between losing teeth and keeping your smile for life. Here’s what separates exceptional periodontal care from the rest.
- ✓ Board certification in periodontics with ongoing education
- ✓ Advanced diagnostic technology (digital X-rays, 3D imaging)
- ✓ Non-surgical treatment options before recommending surgery
- ✓ Clear treatment planning with cost transparency
- ✓ Experience treating your specific condition severity
- ✓ Emergency availability for urgent periodontal problems
- ✓ Coordination with your general dentist for comprehensive care
Diagnostic Technology Matters
Modern periodontists use digital imaging and 3D scanners to detect problems early and plan precise treatments. This technology helps avoid guesswork and often catches issues before they become painful or expensive to fix.
Treatment Philosophy
The best periodontists exhaust non-surgical options first — scaling, root planing, antibiotics, and lifestyle changes. Surgery should be the last resort, not the first suggestion, especially for mild to moderate gum disease.
Emergency Access
Periodontal emergencies — sudden swelling, severe pain, loose teeth — can’t wait weeks for an appointment. Look for practices that offer same-day emergency slots or after-hours contact options.
Insurance & Payment Options
Periodontal treatment can be expensive, especially if multiple procedures are needed. Verify insurance acceptance upfront and ask about payment plans or financing options for larger treatment plans.

- ✓ Comprehensive insurance acceptance including all major providers, CDCP, and specialized plans like Steelworkers Benefits
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does periodontal treatment cost in Hamilton?
Periodontal treatment costs vary widely depending on severity. Basic scaling and root planing typically runs $200-400 per quadrant, while surgical procedures like gum grafts can cost $800-1500 per area. Most Hamilton periodontists accept major insurance plans which often cover 50-80% of necessary treatment. Many practices also offer payment plans or financing options for larger treatment plans, and some accept specialized benefits like the Steelworkers plan.
When should I see a periodontist instead of my regular dentist?
Your dentist will typically refer you to a periodontist if you have deep pockets (5mm+), bone loss visible on X-rays, persistent bleeding despite good home care, or teeth that are becoming loose. You can also self-refer if you notice receding gums, chronic bad breath, or persistent gum swelling. Early intervention by a specialist often prevents more extensive treatment later, so don’t wait if you’re experiencing these symptoms.
What’s the difference between a cleaning and periodontal therapy?
Regular dental cleanings address plaque above the gum line and are typically comfortable. Periodontal therapy (scaling and root planing) goes deeper, removing bacterial deposits from below the gum line and smoothing root surfaces. This “deep cleaning” often requires local anesthesia and may be done over multiple appointments. The goal is to eliminate infection and allow gums to reattach to clean tooth roots, which regular cleanings can’t achieve once gum disease progresses.
